It’s a big honor for a local brew master. Sean Coughlin won “Best of Show” in the New York State Fair's annual "Home Brew" competition. He brewed a Belgian dark strong ale that beat out more than 400 other brews.

Coughlin works for Genesee Brewing in Rochester managing the company's online store and providing in-house beer education. He's been judging beers at the state fair for three years.

A brewing company in Utica will bottle and enter the beer in a national competition in Colorado.
