Gov. Andrew Cuomo, under fire for dismantling his anti-corruption panel, isn't the only candidate whose actions are being questioned by federal prosecutors.
Westchester County executive Rob Astorino, the Republican challenging Cuomo's re-election, has been ordered by a judge to submit to a deposition. A federal monitor alleged that Astorino has been lying about a housing desegregation settlement.
Astorino denied the charge but the judge ordered him to submit to seven hours of interrogation.
The U.S. attorney who has criticized Cuomo is also involved in the long-running battle with Astorino over the housing agreement. The dispute has cost Westchester millions of dollars in federal grants.
The monitor said Astorino has spread misinformation about the objectives of the desegregation settlement and undermined public confidence in it.
