Rochester kids faced a challenge this summer – read 4,000 books. They did not meet that goal, they surpassed it by more than 1,700 books.

The top readers from the Rochester Community Center's Literacy Program were honored today. Top reader Six Williams says she red over a hundred books this summer but still had time to make new friends in her program.

Williams said, “I've played games with all my friends that I've met this summer. I've never been in the Edgerton Community Center, but this is my first year and I'm having fun.”

After today's ceremony, the kids were rewarded for their reading with a roller skating party.
