Firefighters were up early Saturday morning battling a large fire at a lumberyard in Nunda.

Crews were called at 5:30 a.m. for a reported fire at Nunda Lumber on State Street. At the scene, they found heavy flames and smoke coming from a building at that location. It took two hours for firefighters to get the blaze under control. They were assisted by five other fire companies at the scene.

Firefighters say the building was used to store roofing products. That building was destroyed in the fire. The cause is still being investigated.
