Some familiar faces got behind the bar this weekend to serve up drinks for a good cause.
The 2nd annual Cocktails for a Cure took place at the Back Nine Grill in Pittsford on Saturday, and several media personalities and sports figures took part in the fundraiser. Cocktails for a Cure raises money for JDRF, an organization dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes.
News10NBC’s Amanda Ciavarri was one of the guest bartenders at the event.
Organizers say Cocktails for a Cure funds research for type 1 diabetes.
“Type 1 is actually an autoimmune disease, so it isn’t brought on by diet, lifestyle or even genetics. JDRF works to help folks with the disease maintain the disease and, hopefully, ultimately cure the disease,” said Mike Cimineri, JDRF board member.
