We're getting an inside look at the newest grocery store in downtown Rochester. It's the first time a grocery store has opened in that area in more than a decade.
Hart's Local Grocers haven't officially opened the doors yet but our cameras were invited in for a sneak peek this morning.
The grocery store is named after a former store which opened in the 1800's and by 1929, there were 113 Hart's location in just about every neighborhood in the city.
Some descendants from the original owners were on hand for a tour and we had a chance to speak with the new owners. Glenn Kellogg said, “We're trying to go back to an earlier way of doing business. We're taking an older concept of a grocery store and bringing it to a modern era.”
Harts is located on Winthrop Street which is off of East Avenue.
The official grand opening is Friday, August 15.
