Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Wednesday that Mott’s LLP, a subsidiary of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, is adding a multi-million dollar expansion to its production facility in Wayne County this year.
The project includes the addition of new manufacturing lines, updated machinery, and renovations at the plant, where Mott’s juice, applesauce and other items are produced at the current plant in Williamson.
Opened in 1955, the Mott’s Williamson plant employs more than 300 workers and is the leading purchaser of apples in New York. The new expansion is expected to create 20 new jobs and will allow the company to meet demands for its new Mott’s Snack & Go pouches.
"Mott's renovation project is another example of the progress we are making to grow business and create new economic opportunities in Upstate New York," Governor Cuomo said. "This investment strengthens the agricultural and food processing industry in the Finger Lakes, while also adding jobs to a major employer in Wayne County. Boosting the Upstate economy by supporting projects like this continues to be one of this administration's top priorities."
In return for Mott’s investment and job creation, New York State will provide up to $300,000 in performance-based tax credits over the next 10 years.
