An update on the hearing held Thursday involving two former Blossom North nurses who pleaded guilty to neglecting a patient. One of them has been sentenced.

According to the Attorney General's Office, 28-year-old Champagne Anderson of Rochester, was sentenced to three years of probation and 34-year-old Trasy Jalil of Florida will be sentenced in September.

"Today's sentencings send a clear message that caregivers who abuse or neglect patients in nursing facilities will be prosecuted and held accountable," said Attorney General Schneiderman. "Those who are dependent on caregivers are among the most vulnerable New Yorkers, and we have a responsibility to make sure they're treated with dignity and respect."
