A new study reveals aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs may help some breast cancer patients reduce their risk of recurrence.
This protective effect was among obese and overweight women with hormone-related forms of breast cancer. Data from over 400 patients showed aspirin users had a 52-percent lower rate of recurrence and a 28-month delay in time if they did have to fight a second bout of the disease.
Researchers say these drugs help reduce inflammation in tumor cells and prevent them from growing and spreading.
