Federal prosecutors say 28-year-old Marques Williams of Rochester pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor Thursday.

Prosecutors say Williams used Backpage.com, an internet classified advertising service, to list a 15-year-old girl as a prostitute. According to investigators, the girl said she worked as a prostitute for Williams from July 2011 to September 2011.

Attorneys say Williams said he was aware the girl was under the age of 18 and admitted to paying her and advertising the girl as a prostitute online.

The charge Williams plead guilty to carries a mandatory minimum penalty of ten years in prison, with a maximum of life, and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
