Smoke detector recall

Created: 08/15/2014 7:33 AM WHEC.com

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling more than 140,000 ESL and Interlogix brand smoke detectors.

Experts say the detectors, specifically the 400 and 500 series, could become ineffective if exposed to certain radio frequencies.  The alarms, which are hard wired into apartments and homes, were installed from March 2013 to February of this year.

If you think you may be using one of these systems, you are urged to call your security or fire system provider for a replacement.
