Big crowds expected today at Wegmans LPGA

Round two of the Wegmans LPGA started at 7:15 a.m. at Monroe Golf Club.

There has been a real mix of fans at the course. We spoke with a woman from Farmington who came out for the first time and another person who drove in from New Hampshire to be here.

We also talked with a Monroe Golf Club member who has been hosting players since the early 90’s. Dennis Monteith says it's a great way to connect with the golfers in the tournament. “We’re hosting Paz Echeverria. She’s a 29-year-old golfer, second on the tour. We always look forward to it each year.”

George Short said, “The ladies, every one of them, doesn’t matter who they are, what their records are. They will stand and talk to you and sign stuff. It’s great. It’s a great atmosphere to be here.”

There is still plenty of time to head out and get up close and personal with the best golfers from around the world.

The Championship continues through Sunday.
