Two Rochester women are facing drug charges in Livingston County.

Sheriff’s deputies say they conducted a traffic stop on Route 63 in the Town of Groveland around 11 a.m. Thursday. Investigators say Tamara Welch was in possession of marijuana and powdered crack cocaine and another woman, Tonia Gardner, was in possession of a narcotic which she did not have a prescription for.

Welch was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. She is being held in the Livingston County Jail. Gardner was issued an appearance ticket for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
