The November elections are still a few months away, but campaigning has already begun.

On Saturday, Republican candidate Rob Astorino was at a pro-gun rally in Ontario County. Astorino is the current Westchester County Executive, and he’s hoping to oust Governor Andrew Cuomo in the election.

Astorino’s says he wants to repeal The Safe Act and get rid of Common Core.

“We’re spreading the message that we should not settle for being dead last in this country, as a state, in all the categories that matter. We have the highest taxes, the worst business climate, the worst economic outlook, we’re the worst state to retire in, we’re the worst state for small businesses and 400,000 New Yorkers have left this state in just the past three years. That’s unacceptable,” Astorino said.

Both Astorino and Cuomo are currently under investigation for separate issues. Astorino is under investigation for housing a desegregation dispute. Cuomo is being questioned in connection with the Moreland Commission.
