Man shot in Rochester expected to recover

A man is recovering after being shot on the city’s southwest side on Sunday night.

Investigators say it happened around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Arnett Boulevard and Genesee Street. Police say they found a man in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to his lower body.

According to investigators, the man was walking on Genesee Street when he heard shots and realized he had been hit.

Police say the man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover.

The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects are in custody.
