Firefighters say a family escapes to safety just moments after their home on Oxford Street catches fire late Sunday evening.

Crews were called to the scene on just before midnight after a neighbor smelled smoke. Firefighters say when they arrived, they found a fire in the attic. Crews say it took about 20 minutes to get the flames under control. News10NBC has learned two families lived in the house. However, only the family living on the first floor was home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
