We're expecting an update on Jim Kelly's battle with sinus cancer. The former Buffalo Bills quarterback is in New York City today for a scan to see if chemotherapy and radiation treatments were successful.
Twenty-eight years ago today Jim Kelly took part in his first practice as a Buffalo Bill. From there, “Kelly Tough” was born. At that time, he could have never imagined how important “Kelly Tough” would be.
Kelly is scheduled for an MRI today to see if the seven weeks of radiation and three rounds of chemotherapy were able to eradicate the cancer. Kelly has been recovering from the treatments for the past two and a half months. He has lost 51 pounds and eats out of a feeding tube but none of that has stopped him from living. He held his football camps and went to Andre Reed’s Hall of Fame induction.
Today, Kelly’s wife, Jill, asked everyone to pray for him at noon.
No further updates on Kelly have been provided.
