→THE ROCHESTER RED WINGS scored in four of the first five innings as they cruised to a 7-2 win over the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday night at Coca-Cola Field. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Wings at Coca-Cola Field and was just the second win for Rochester in seven games in Buffalo this season. With Pawtucket’s win over Lehigh Valley, the Wings remain 2.0 GB in the Wild Card with just 13 games remaining in the regular season. The Wings and Bisons wrap up the 2-G series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m.
→TYLER DUFFEY turned in his second straight quality start for the Wings as he allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits over 6.0 innings to pick up his second Triple-A win in as many starts. Over his last 13 starts combined with Double-A, Duffey is 9-1 with a 3.08 ERA and has allowed 3 or fewer ER in 11 of those last 13 starts.
→CHRIS COLABELLO (1-3; HR, R, RBI) launched his team-leading 9th home run of the season (in 48 games) in the third inning. The homer was his 3rd since being optioned back to Rochester on August 9 and the 33rd of his Red Wings career in 137 games.
→CHRIS HERRMANN (0-4; RBI) gave Rochester a 1-0 lead on an RBI fielder’s choice in the 1st inning. Herrmann’s now collected an RBI in a tied for team-high 4 straight games. His tied for season-high 6-game hitting streak was snapped, however.
→WILKIN RAMIREZ (2-4; HR, R, 2 RBI) slugged his 4th home run of the season in the 5th inning and his first since July 6 vs. BUF...He also added a two-out RBI single in the 1st inning as he’s collected a base hit in 13 of his last 14 games, batting .339 (19-54) with 9 RBI...Prior to this hot streak, Ramirez was batting just .128 over an 11-game stretch.
→PEDRO FLORIMON (2-4; 2 2B, R, 3 RBI) provided the biggest hit of the night with a two-out, bases-clearing double that extended the Red Wings lead to 6-0 in the 4th inning. Over his last 9 games, Florimon is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with 5 2B and 7 RBI.
→LESTER OLIVEROS turned in two more scoreless innings as he extended his scoreless streak to 16 1/3 innings -- the longest by a Wings reliever this season and just a 1/3 of an inning shy of tying a Wings season-high 16 2/3 IP set by Yohan Pino. Over the streak (9 games), Oliveros has allowed just 7 hits and 4 walks while striking out 27. Oliveros has also now struck out multiple hitters in 12 straight outings (35 SO/20.2 IP).
