Naloxone kits to be purchased for some SUNY campuses

Created: 08/20/2014 3:06 PM WHEC.com

Some SUNY campuses are receiving state money to buy the antidote used to reverse a heroin overdose.

The state Attorney General's office says 12 SUNY campuses will receive naloxone kits. Among them -- Geneseo, Buffalo and Oswego where a student died from a heroin overdose on campus this May.

The cost of these kits are $60 each. We're told money seized from drug dealers and other criminals around New York will be used to help pay for these kits.
