The potential housing of illegal immigrant children in our area led to passionate views from both supporters and opponents. One of the sites discussed to house the undocumented children was Blossom South.

During discussions, Mayor Lovely Warren had said that we needed to be compassionate and consider both sides of the issue but in a letter we just received, Mayor Warren says that the federal government informed Rochester and other cities that it's looking elsewhere for temporary shelters.

In the letter, Warren writes, "This news ends the need for any further discussion or exploration of options in the City of Rochester at this time."

We tried to talk to the mayor but her spokesperson says that she will not be available for comment.
