Are you ready for a flu shot?

Created: 08/22/2014 8:09 AM WHEC.com

It might seem a little early to get your flu shot but many local pharmacies are already asking customers if they want to get vaccinated.

A spokesperson for the Monroe County Health Department says that's because some pharmacies received flu shot shipments earlier this year. The flu season typically begins in October.

If you do get vaccinated in August, the CDC says the vaccine will protect you for the entire flu season.
