Deputies say a pilot was not injured after he crashed his plane making an emergency landing in Victor.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says 74-year-old Richard Schaefer, of Shortsville, was flying his single engine plane back from Erie County to Hopewell when he ran out of fuel near Victor.

Deputies say Schaefer began looking for a field to land in when the engine stopped. He spotted one on County Road 41 and glided in for a landing. Luckily, deputies say Schaefer was not hurt in the crash and the plane only had minor damage.

A representative from the FAA responded to the scene to investigate the crash. Schaefer made private arrangements to remove the plane.
