A 25-hour relay is behind held to raise money for the family of a cross-country coach who died unexpectedly.

Jason DeJoy coached at Pittsford Mendon and was also a teacher at Barker Road Middle School. He passed away in January.

The run starts at 9 a.m. at McQuaid. At least one runner has to be circling the track at all times until the event ends Thursday morning. The community is welcome to walk, jog, or run along.

The proceeds from the event will go to the college fund for his three daughters.
