Update: Man pulled from Canandaigua Lake dies in hospital

News10NBC has learned that the man pulled from Canandaigua Lake on Tuesday has died.

This story comes to us from our news partners at The Messenger Post. Officials say John Curtis Wyer, 66, of Gorham died at Highland Hospital.

According to investigators, a 19-year-old spotted Wyer in the lake near Kershaw Park and pulled him from the water. We’re told a nurse was also in the area and performed CPR in an attempt to save him.

Investigators have not said how Wyer ended up in the water.
