An unusual discovery was made in Le Roy on Sunday.

Investigators say an SUV that was reported stolen from Pittsford three months ago was found submerged in a quarry. We’re told a worker at the Hanson Aggregates Quarry noticed the Jeep Wrangler partially submerged around 10 a.m. and called police. Crews went down in boats, but they say they didn’t find anyone inside.

Investigators say they traced the VIN number of the jeep and discovered it had been reported stolen out of Pittsford back in May.

We’re told the vehicle was between 70 to 75 feet down in the quarry.
