Several hundred people laced up their sneakers for their first ever 5K run on Sunday as a part of the No Boundaries Program at Fleet Feet.

About six weeks ago participants began walking for a half an hour, and gradually they started running, adding fifteen second intervals into the mix.

Eventually, the group worked their way up to being able to run the full 3.1 miles.

“I was just trying to find something differed to do at an older age, and I saw Fleet Feet in the papers and on websites. I just decided if I could get a couple of girlfriends to do it with me then let’s give it a shot. I have never run in my life. We did our first 5K today, and we’re hooked,” said Julie Hausmann, completed 5K.

Many of the runners said Sunday’s achievement was an experience they’ll never forget.
