A Seneca County father is making a new request to the courts after he pled guilty to killing his son last year.

According to Syracuse.com, Karl Karlsen now wants to appeal that plea. Last year, Karlsen admitted his role in the death of his son Levi. Prosecutors said Karlsen took out an insurance policy on his son just weeks before his death.

According to Syracuse.com, Karlsen filed court papers to appeal, and a court has appointed a new lawyer for him.

Just last week, Syracuse.com reported that Karlsen has now been charged with murder in the death of his first wife Christina.
