The road to the postseason for the Rochester Red Wings was an uphill battle through Pawtucket and -- after a lengthy rain delay -- the playoff hunt was washed out.

This afternoon, the Wings played their final game of the season in Pawtucket. The Wings were eager to get this one over with. In the top of the first, Chris Collabello sends one back up the middle, getting Doug Bernier across the plate, Wings were up 1-0.

In the 2nd, Wings added to their lead with bases loaded for Eric Ferris. He sent a sac fly to right. Deibinson Romero trotted home and the Wings jumped out, 2-0.

The Wings ended as the winners in their final game of the year, 3-1. They open up next season on April 9 at Coca Cola Field in Buffalo.
