Orleans County sheriffs say a Holley man had to be rescued on Monday while swimming off his boat on Lake Ontario.
Deputies say Sean Bemont, 38, was boating with his wife about a mile north of Wilson Road in the Town of Carlton when he decided to take a swim. While he was in the water his boat started to drift farther and farther away from him. They say his wife called 911 because she couldn’t steer the boat back to Bemont.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Marine Unit responded to the lake and rescued Bemont from the water. He was given medical attention on scene are released.
