An approaching cold front will plow into the warm and humid air mass now over New York to create thunderstorms later this afternoon into early this evening.
Any thunderstorm will be capable, on a localized basis, of producing downpours, gusty winds and hail. In Western NY, that risk will be highest in communities south and east of Rochester.
Behind the front, pleasantly warm and sunny conditions will return for Wednesday.
