People have been standing up to be counted and show their support for the family of Officer Daryl Pierson, his wife and two young children. Many of those people, fellow first responders, coming together in the spirit of solidarity.
Last night, a Webster business held a fundraiser for the family of the fallen officer. Firefighters passed a bucket to collect donations for Pierson's family at Hatter’s Pub on Main Street in Webster.
They also observed a moment of silence just before 9:30 p.m. That’s when police say Pierson suffered a deadly gunshot wound.
According to the event's Facebook page, the fundraiser raised over $1,700 for the Pierson family.
