College officials say they have completed a review of a SUNY Geneseo professor who students say posted a transphobic quiz in class.

Earlier this year, a student posted a photo they said they took in Professor David Sorbello's sociology class. In the photo, a quiz is shown on a classroom projector that reads "Female or Shemale: Can you tell?"

The professor was also accused of saying: "This is a lesson to you all -- not to get to drunk or you might take the wrong one home."

In a petition, students demanded that Professor Sorbello be fired. In a statement Wednesday, SUNY Geneseo President Denise A. Battles said she couldn't share the outcome of the review, but said the school is "taking appropriate steps."

"While I am not at liberty to share details of those outcomes and subsequent actions due to personnel and privacy constraints, I believe our approach was equitable, deliberative and thorough and the resulting actions both well-considered and consistent with our institutional values," Battles wrote.
