Even with the medical issues these children have it has never deterred Tegan away from interacting with them. She ignores the differences and provides each child she meets with a sense of belonging and purpose.

"I've never had any struggles with my medical history so knowing that there are kids out there who need the help and the extra love and me being able to give it to them, there's just something so rewarding about that and being a part of that," she says. "And helping them overcome these boundaries, it's so rewarding."

Tegan does much more than volunteer. She's an assistant Little League softball coach and a member of Bishop Kearney's National Honor Society.
