Three people were injured in a car crash in Canandaigua on Friday after one driver went through a red light, striking an SUV.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, around 11:02 a.m. on Friday local fire, ambulance and Sheriff's Deputies responded to a crash on Route 5 at Middle Cheshire Road. It was determined that a 43-year-old Canandaigua woman in a Subaru sedan had been traveling eastbound on Route 5 when she failed to stop for a red light, striking a Ford SUV heading southbound on Middle Cheshire. Both cars then struck a Toyota SUV that had been heading northbound from Middle Cheshire Road.
The driver of the sedan suffered a fractured wrist and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ford SUV had head and leg injuries, while hte passenger complained of pain on her right side. Both were transported to Thompson Hospital for treatment. The operator of the Toyota was not injured.
The woman driving the sedan, Laurie Freyland, was ticketed for passing the red light and will answer to the charge at a later date in Canandaigua Town Court.
