The University of Rochester has been awarded $19 million from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.
This grant will require 20 new employees to be hired and help researchers turn scientific discoveries into health benefits faster. This award comes only one year after the UR Clinical and Translational Science Institute was gifted a previous $19 million grant.
"So it's not just the money. This is an opportunity for us to be leaders on the national stage and stewards of a program that funds over 50 centers for translational research that seeks to bring therapies from discovery into the clinic."
The UR Medical Center was one of the first 12 institutions in the nation to receive funding from the CTSI program.
