A Palmyra-Macedon graduate has made the cut for a training team with U.S. Lacrosse.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Ben Reeves is one of 49 players selected to be on the U.S. Lacrosse National Training Team.

Over 60 professional players were invited to the initial round of tryouts, and a dozen college players were then given an invitation after the collegiate season wrapped up.

Reeves, who plays at Yale, joins Maryland's Connor Kelly and Denver's Trevor Baptiste as the only current college players to be selected to the training squad.

He hasn't officially secured a spot on the final roster yet even though 22 players were already eliminated. There will be another round of cuts to get the team down to a 23-man roster at a later date.

Team USA will compete in the FIL Men's Lacrosse World Championship next summer in Israel.
