“I’m speechless,” said Shamond Brock, a family friend. “I’m praying for her parents.”

When police arrived at the scene they found the teen lying in the driveway. She was then rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed she was dead.

“Everybody that knows her loves her,” said Ebony Grimes, the victim's stepmom. “She was a great kid.”

Ebony tells News10NBC that Ciara loves Cosmetology and had a job interview lined up Wednesday. “She was trying to get a job to start her career - her life,” said Ebony.

“Hug your children,” said the parent to any moms and dads heeding the message. “Give them all the love you can give them.”

Police haven’t released a suspect name yet but did take three people in for questioning that were with the teen at the time of the shooting.
