An alleged victim of clergy sexual abuse spoke out Thursday morning in a press conference at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester.
The alleged victim, Carol DuPre' says that the abuse she suffered occurred from 1962 and 1963 when she was between the ages of 15- and 16-years-old.
She would continue to say that at that time she would count the money after mass on Sunday which is where the alleged abuse at the hands of Father Stuart Hogan began.
"By coming out and talking about this I hope this will help how I am feeling on the inside which is healing," DuPre' explained.
DuPre' would add that she feels she has experienced a trauma that has impacted her day-to-day life and attempts by her family to reveal the alleged abuse have gone unheard.
Last week, attorney Mitchell Garabedian was in town to announce the names of eight Diocese of Rochester priests who allegedly sexually abused children.
On Thursday he urged the Diocese of Rochester to release all documents concerning clergy sexual abuse, including those that have victims names redacted. He hopes with a release of the documents that the names of the abusers and the details in the alleged abuse can be released.
Garabedian also would go on to question the retirement of the alleged abuser, Father Hogan and insisted the church provide details into the retirement.
