Cooper, who's a senior at Wilson Magnet School, interned at Strong Hospital this summer. Cotton, who's a junior at the School of Arts, interned at the Teaching and Learning Center.

"I feel really honored and proud that all my proud work has paid off and that I'm finally seeing that all that I've ever put in since middle school," said Cooper.

"Overall, it was a really good experience," said Cotton. "I learned a lot of things about working in this field. It was a really good environment, it was really good people that checked on me, making sure I was okay, and taken care of. It was a really good experience."

Both girls say they plan to graduate from high school, go off to college and eventually bring their skills back to Rochester.
