The Wayne County Sheriff has also issued a travel advisory that goes into effect Friday at 5 p.m. and lasts until Saturday at 4 p.m. From 10 p.m. Friday until Saturday at 7 a.m., the advisory will be upgraded to "No Unnecessarily Travel." Neither advisory bans travel, but both urge drivers to avoid travel if possible and to be careful when out on the roads.

In a statement, Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts writes, "Significant amounts of snow will fall throughout parts of Wayne County overnight that may make travel dangerous. Plow crews may not be on the road overnight, so road surfaces may see significant accumulations before plowing are resumed Saturday morning."
