Zagster says Rochester's bike-sharing program is off to strong start

The City of Rochester's new bike-sharing program seems to be off to a hot start.

Zagster launched in late July and Tuesday we got a look at some of the numbers.

Zagster bikes in Rochester have attracted 6,000 riders who've logged more than 12,000 rides. The average ride lasts 25 minutes.

There about 900 new riders per week. Usage is heaviest downtown, with the weekends being the busiest rental days.

Riders are about half male (55.5 percent) and half female (44.5 percent) and ridership is highest among 28 and 29-year-olds.
