The McQuaid crew team's "Row for Hope" landed in Pittsford on Saturday.
The group is rowing the length of the Erie Canal to help raise money for the Holy Childhood expansion. It was the second day of an eight-day journey, and both the rowers and the school are benefiting from the experience:
"I can tell from speaking with them that they're pretty reflective about the fact that they're giving something up to help others, and that's what it's all about, it's very meaningful, it's very grateful," says Donna Dedee, the Holy Childhood president.
"It means a lot because it shows what we're doing for the Holy Childhood community," says Christin Mathews of Row for Hope, "and it shows that it's making a difference for them."
