There are rows of Sectional Championship trophies at HF-L and Paige Smith is a big reason why.
The senior has been part of multiple Section V Championship teams across multiple sports.
Paige says, "The thing I've noticed is that playing multiple sports helps me. There are things in soccer that helped me in basketball and lacrosse and the same with the other two."
Last year, Paige helped the Cougars win Sectional titles in basketball and lacrosse. But this fall she hopes to add a soccer Sectional brick to the trophy case at Honeoye Falls-Lima High School.
While Paige excels in all of her sports, lacrosse remains her favorite.
"I like that it's fast-paced. There's a lot of strategy. It's not just how fast you are and how good your skills are, so there's a technique to it, defensively and offensively," says Paige.
The National Honor Society member has a GPA just under 4.0 and would like to play lacrosse in college. She's also thinking about studying engineering.
"I like problem-solving and I like being creative too," she says. "I like drawing and art. If I go into engineering, I want something with that creative process."
Congratulations Paige Smith, the News10NBC Scholar Athlete of the Week, presented by Nixon Peabody and the Ide Family of Dealerships.
