Dan Taddeo saw his older brother raise a championship trophy and since then he's wanted to continue to make Penfield the best.
"I was at all of the games cheering them on," says Dan. "Remember, it's like it was yesterday, watching them storm the field after they won -- something that I worked hard for and hopefully we can get it this year."
This spring will be Dan's fourth year playing lacrosse for the varsity team and his third as a starter. He's quite accomplished in the sport and has already committed to play in college at Robert Morris, but he's also accomplished in the classroom.
The National Honor Society member started a business club at Penfield and was selected by the principal to represent the student body during the interview process for prospective teachers at the high school.
"There's a lot of responsibility," Dan tells us. "We had to focus the whole time and see the little things they do, whether it's making eye contact or the way that they talk. I think they were more nervous than we were."
A varsity team, the head of a school club and even a key piece of picking the facility, there's a lot of responsibility on Dan Taddeo's shoulders.
"I try and do as much as I can for not only the class but the whole school because I feel this school has done so much for all students, not only me, that's my way to give back."
Congratulations Dan Taddeo, the News10NBC Scholar Athlete of the Week, presented by Nixon Peabody and the Ide Family of Dealerships.
