Hideki Matsui gave the Yankees the lead in the second inning with a two run homerun, and then in the third inning Matsui hit a two-run single with the bases loaded to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead. Then in the fifth inning, after an RBI from Mark Teixeira, Matsui got two more RBI’s. That totaled 6 for the night, which ties Bobby Richardson's single game series record. At that point the Yankees were up 7-1. Police say so far there have not been any problems in the streets with the people celebrating. Hideki Matsui was named MVP and the Yankees will hold a parade in New York City on Friday. For more Rochester, N.Y. news go to our website www.whec.com. |
