Professional football may be America’s most popular sport but fewer fans are going to the games so the NFL has decided to rev up the game-day experience with some brand new perks.
The Wall Street Journal reports the average attendance at NFL games has dropped four-percent since 2007.
So the league has a new plan to get fans off the couch and in the stands.
For the first time, fans in the stadium will be able to watch the same instant replays the referees see on controversial calls.
It plans to make free wireless internet available in every stadium, allowing fans to see highlights or other games across the country like they do at home.
And it plans to create smartphone apps that could let fans listen to players wearing microphones on the field.
The NFL is even considering allowing fans in the seats to listen to conversations between referees on disputed calls.
