Bills rookie head coach Doug Marrone faces a daunting NFL debut with Buffalo set to open the regular season hosting AFC East nemesis New England.
The NFL released its schedule Thursday night.
The Patriots travel to Orchard Park to open the season on Sept. 8. It'll be Marrone's first game since taking over the Bills in January.
He'll be facing a team that has won 18 of the past 19 games against Buffalo, and 23 of 25 dating to 2000. It marks the fourth time since 2003 Buffalo has opened against New England.
The Bills will close their season at the Patriots on Dec. 29. Their lone prime-time game will be at Cleveland on Thursday, Oct. 3. Buffalo's annual "home" game at Toronto will be against Atlanta on Dec. 1.
