Donato Clemente is replacing greatness. He is part of Aquinas's two-headed back field that has to fill the shoes of former Co-State Player of the Year Billy Lombardi.
Donato is off to a great start. In Week One, the running back ran for two touchdowns. In Week Two, he was part of a AQ defense that shutout then number one ranked Canisius. Some advice from Lombardi has helped that progress.
Donato is not only impressive on the field, he's impressive in the classroom. He carries an 89 average and is looking at Cornell, Colgate and Albany. Donato is apart of Aquinas' Peer Ministry Program, which is designed for seniors to help underclassmen feel comfortable at school through guidance, mediation and prayer.
Peer ministry not benefit the younger students, but Donato also uses it to his advantage. Donato approaches the field with that same calming presence, a layer he adds to the Little Irish Football Program. The team is going for its eight straight sectional title.
