The only score that matters in tournament play is the final score, and the case couldn't be more true for the Sutherland Knights.

Yesterday the Knights were tenacious in their search of their second state title. Sutherland chipped away and took control in the 4th quarter advancing to their first title game since 2006.

2006 was the only state championship for Coach Dan Judd and the Knights. Now Sutherland’s facing Jamesville Dewitt.

In the first quarter, Sutherland goes inside out and senior shooting guard Liz Greendyke pours it from three. Knights take a 6-nothing lead.

In the second quarter, the Knights firing away from behind the arc. Kayley Axelrod drains the long ball and Sutherland takes a 10 point lead.

Still in the second, Sedita Ebangwese takes the pass down low and goes up strong over two defenders. This play was Sutherland’s bread and butter yesterday and it works again today.

Then in the fourth, Sutherland looking to pour it on…Greendyke was battling an illness all week long, but the senior fights through it and hit the three.

Sutherland is the Class A State Champs, beating Jamesville Dewitt 57-41.
