The Rochester Americans announced Monday that the team has recalled goaltenders Connor Knapp and Andrey Makarov.
Knapp, a McQuaid High School grad and native of York, New York, has appeared in 29 total ECHL games this season with Greenville, Florida and Alaska, posting a record of 11-12-3-2 with a 2.53 goals-against average, a .920 save percentage and one shutout. Last season, he appeared in 12 games with Greenville, posting a record of 5-7-0 with a 3.05 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound netminder also appeared in seven American Hockey League games with the Amerks during the 2012-13 campaign, going 1-6-0 with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage.
Makarov has played in 31 games with Fort Wayne this year, posting a record of 15-11-2-2 with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in his first season of professional hockey. Last season, he played in 61 games with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL), posting a record of 37-17-2-3 with a 2.62 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and seven shutouts, and was named the Outstanding Goaltender for the 2013 Memorial Cup. In 115 career WHL games with Saskatoon, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound native of Kazan, Russia, went 66-38-3-4 with a 2.80 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage and nine shutouts.
